(G)I-DLE’s Minnie Talks About Songwriting and Understanding Soyeon’s Work Ethic

On the 11th of July, Minnie made an appearance on the web variety show “Jae Friends” and discussed (G)I-DLE’s latest mini-album “I SWAY” with Kim Jaejoong.

At the MLB Seoul Series, Jaejoong reminisced about (G)I-DLE’s performance and noted that it left the audience in a state of excitement.

Minnie recalled, “I was quite anxious due to the boisterous cheers upon our entrance.”Jaejoong reflected, “I remember watching it and enthusiastically cheering along, as K-pop is broadcasted globally.”

Jaejoong inquired, “Soyeon is skilled at writing and directing her own songs. Do you think mixing work and personal emotions can be uncomfortable?”Minnie clarified, “Both Soyeon and I write songs, and many other members do as well. Each member takes charge of their own songs.”

(G)I-DLE unveiled their mini-album “I SWAY”on July 8th, featuring their title track “Klaxon”. According to Minnie, the mini-album is packed with (G)I-DLE’s lively and invigorating summer tunes. She explained that “Klaxon”symbolizes the sound of a horn, representing an exhilarating heart. During the showcase, Minnie showcased the signature choreography, playfully dubbing it the “hula-hula dance”.

Minnie also added, “We were able to finish the recording in record time. Normally, it takes us a week, but we managed to complete it in one take this time.”Impressed by their hard work, Jaejoong remarked, “(G)I-DLE continues to show great dedication even in their seventh year.”
