During a recent live broadcast, Miyeon from the group (G)I-DLE was joined by her juniors Sohee (RIIZE), Hanbin (ZEROBASEONE), and Jaehyun (BOYNEXTDOOR). As a seasoned host on music shows, Miyeon shared numerous fascinating stories during the livestream.
In particular, the female idol recounted a memorable event involving BTS member Jungkook that she deemed as a “once-in-a-lifetime”experience. She revealed, “I was present when senior Jungkook won the weekly cup, but unfortunately, his trophy broke in half and rolled onto the floor. I was completely taken aback by the sudden turn of events!”
Without hesitation, online users were reminded of the unforgettable event that took place on July 7, 2023. On that day, Jungkook’s solo track “SEVEN”surpassed NewJeans to claim victory. As soon as the winner was declared, Miyeon’s trophy unexpectedly split in two and dropped to the floor, catching the idol off guard. However, she swiftly regained her composure.

Naturally, Jungkook was well aware of the “incident”but playfully remarked, “ARMY, thank you for helping me reach number one on M Countdown! Thanks to everyone’s support, I have now won first place on M Countdown twice! Hehe. Did I catch it live? I did see the trophy accidentally breaking and falling to the ground. Haha, thank you all once again!”
A year later, Miyeon seized the chance to offer her apologies to Jungkook while reminiscing about the uncomfortable incident, stating, “Please allow me to apologize once more. It was an experience I will never forget!”
