Girl Group Predicted to Disband Now Has 2nd Gen: ‘New Lineup, New Hope, Same Dream’

In the ever-changing and highly competitive landscape of K-pop, every year sees the emergence of new groups, all competing for a chance to shine. Nevertheless, achieving success is not a given, particularly for those signed under smaller agencies.

The journey for Girl’s World, a girl group managed by Liz Entertainment, has been far from easy.

In 2022, Girl’s World made their debut with the title track “Rapunzel,”and the group initially comprised of four members: A-Ra, Windy, Kyrin, and HARi.

Despite their attempts, they faced challenges in establishing a strong presence in the oversaturated market.

To rescue the group, A-Ra made a daring decision and disclosed on her personal Instagram that she had entered into a wager with their CEO: either sell 100 copies of their second album or risk disbandment.

A-Ra was determined to succeed and was willing to risk the group’s future, believing that they were capable of achieving the goal.

The news spread rapidly, resulting in netizens rallying together and generating a significant demand for the album.

Liz Entertainment also established a platform for international fans to buy the album, which emphasizes the increasing popularity of Girl’s World.

Fans were filled with hope for Girl’s World to solidify their position in the K-pop industry with the debut of their second album, “Fly High (Thumbelina).”

Nevertheless, the situation became more intricate.

Liz Entertainment revealed that the release would be postponed as a result of Windy and Kyrin’s departure, citing various unspecified challenges. The agency assured that new members would be added, but subsequent announcements created confusion about the group’s current situation.

In March 2024, A-Ra announced her departure, but Liz Entertainment soon declared that she would be going on an indefinite hiatus due to health concerns.

HARi’s expressed interest in debuting in a different group was met with support from the agency, who then began making preparations for the formation of a new team.

As a result, there were many speculations that Girl’s World was essentially disbanding.

Hello. This is Liz Entertainment.

Despite the internal friction among members, the company has been tirelessly leading and protecting “Girl’s World”.

However, Hari desired to launch a new girl group under a different name, and the headquarters, respecting that opinion, decided to reflect it.

Currently, Hari is on vacation in Japan until the new team is launched, taking a break. The headquarters continues to select new members through auditions and is making efforts for the formation and preparation of Hari’s new team.

Furthermore, due to health reasons, Ara requires rest and treatment, so we inform you of her temporary indefinite suspension of activities.

Although the four members of Girls’ World (Windy, Kairin, Ara, Hari) cannot be together, Girls’ World will not disband but will soon greet you as Girls’ World 2nd Generation with a new member lineup.”

Despite the chaos and apparent dissolution, an unexpected event took place on June 11.

Girl’s World, now including Windy, Kyrin, and an unidentified member, was captured on film during a performance. This surprising event suggested that the group may continue, although with a reorganized roster.

Liz Entertainment confirmed that Girl’s World would not break up, but rather embark on a “2nd Generation”with fresh members.

The agency reaffirmed their dedication to the group’s future, despite facing internal challenges and changes in members.
