On SNSD’s 17th debut anniversary, the seven members gathered to celebrate the special day. However, there was no sign of Sunny. What could have happened to her?
On August 5, fans of K-pop, especially SONEs (fandom), were overjoyed to see the complete members of Girls’ Generation, the “Nation’s Girl Group,”in one frame once again!
Prior to their big day, the seven members, Taeyeon, Sooyoung, Yuri, YoonA, Hyoyeon & Seohyun, took a moment to send their well wishes to Tiffany for her birthday. Simultaneously, the group also celebrated their anniversary.
Regrettably, Sunny was unable to join the exclusive gathering because she was in the US. However, her SNSD colleagues made sure she was not left out by photoshopping her into their group pictures, causing both the members and fans to burst into laughter.
Seohyun, the youngest member, wrote the caption for the photo she uploaded:
“Congratulations on our 17 years, SNSD. (Please understand the poor editing. Soonkyu unnie who is always with us in my heart) #GGFOREVER.”
In the photos that were released, the group of eight members, consisting of Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, YoonA, and Seohyun, were captured posing together while Sunny was not present. However, they displayed their love for her by including her in the photos through photoshopping.
In addition, they specifically selected a photo of Sunny wearing a white dress to complement the white-themed attire of the party. This image reminded fans of their pristine and unspoiled appearances when they first debuted with “Into the New World,”but now, the members have shown even more growth and maturity.
To offer SONEs a sneak peek of the party, Yuri shared a brief vlog on her personal YouTube channel, capturing the enthusiastic reactions of the seven members as they reunited after a long period of time. Tiffany also shared a gift unboxing video, showcasing the luxurious gifts she had received from the other SNSD members.
At the same time, the SNS of Girls’ Generation shared their official poster and a TikTok clip featuring current SM artists YoonA, Taeyeon, Hyoyeon, and Yuri, to welcome the members. The four members also proudly displayed the debut cake, specially designed for the occasion.
The fans who were present during this event had explosive reactions, including:

In 2007, Girls’ Generation made their debut with the single album “Into the New World”and is currently celebrating their 17th anniversary. Recently, member Tiffany appeared on JTBC’s “Newsroom”on July 21 and generated buzz by discussing the group’s upcoming plans for full promotions together.
