In a recent collaboration between Incheon International Airport and SM Entertainment, aespa was appointed as honorary ambassadors for the airport. Previously, NewJeans had been selected as the ambassador for public relations by the Incheon Airport Headquarters Customs.
Nevertheless, prior to the emergence of these two groups, Girls’ Generation was the representative of Incheon Airport, serving as the embodiment of Korea and welcoming travelers upon their arrival in the country.
Moreover, in contrast to NewJeans and aespa, Girls’ Generation’s role as ambassadors did not conclude with a simple photoshoot. Rather, the members had the opportunity to directly partake in the duties of customs workers.
Specifically, a key responsibility of airport customs is to inspect for illegal items such as contraband food, weapons, and drugs. This has resulted in a notable situation involving Girls’ Generation, where members were photographed carrying bags that appeared to contain marijuana.
i hope aespa recreate this iconic moment https://t.co/WkNYsSLwTY pic.twitter.com/kAJaIzFCma
