Girls’ Generation’s Yuri Allegedly Deletes Recent Photos Due to Fear of Fine

On July 24th, Kwon Yuri shared pictures on her personal channel with the caption “PARTY”. The images show Kwon Yuri standing or lying on a tetrapod at a secluded beach in Jeju.

Shortly after the photos were shared, there was an influx of reactions, including comments such as “You shouldn’t be climbing up there”and “It appears to be very risky. You could face a fine for trespassing.”As the debate surrounding the photos intensified, Kwon Yuri made the decision to remove them.

Tetrapods are solid structures designed to protect against waves or tsunamis, initially invented in France in 1949. They are commonly utilized in coastal development globally, with sizes varying from 3 to 5 meters in length, and some weighing more than 70 tons each.

In 2022, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries designated tetrapods as dangerous zones within harbors and prohibited entry to these areas. Failure to comply with this regulation may lead to a penalty of 1 million won.

The presence of algae and frequent exposure to seawater causes the surface of tetrapods to be slick, resulting in a high risk of slipping.
