Glenn Powell has confirmed his return as Hangman in Top Gun 3, however, the Twisters star is not ready to reveal any further details at this time.
Despite Powell being occupied with battling tornadoes and Tom Cruise focusing on performing stunts for the production of Mission: Impossible 8, fans are eagerly anticipating updates on the development of Top Gun 3.
In 2022, Top Gun: Maverick was a major success, earning the title of second highest-grossing film of the year. It was praised for reviving the film industry after the pandemic, and sparked anticipation for another Top Gun sequel.
Powell has announced on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he will certainly be reprising his role in the new movie. However, fans will have to continue waiting for additional information on the project.
“When asked about the upcoming project, he replied: “I mean, I have a date.”However, when further questioned, he firmly stated: “Absolutely not.”
Despite Powell not being involved in the game, it is unlikely that we will receive any further information about the long-awaited sequel anytime soon. However, it is confirmed that the game is in progress and production is expected to begin soon.
In Top Gun Maverick, Powell portrayed Hangman, the blond-haired and smirking rival of Rooster, played by Miles Teller. He has since risen to fame, captivating audiences with his performances in action films such as Hit Man and Twisters, earning him a household name and winning over viewers’ hearts.
At the very least, it represents some progress compared to Powell’s position in January, when the initial report of Top Gun 3 surfaced.
According to Powell, in an interview with Variety, he was met with curious looks as if he were privy to insider information. He revealed that there are exciting announcements on the horizon, but he was sworn to secrecy. He frequently communicates with Joseph Kosinski, Tom Cruise, and Jerry Bruckheimer.
“Exciting events are currently taking place, but I am unsure when I will have the opportunity to return. However, I am confident that there will be a jet awaiting my arrival in the near future.”
