On August 15, 2024, it was announced that the manga series Go for It, Nakamura! will be adapted into an anime. This news was revealed through the launch of an official anime website and an X account. At this time, no information has been released about the voice cast or any other details. The series is classified as BL (boys’ love).
The manga series, created by Syundei, began in December 2014 and concluded its serialization in August 2016. In honor of the recent announcement, Syundei also released a commemorative illustration. The sequel to the manga, titled Go For It Again, Nakamura!, started in June 2017 and concluded in June 2021.
Go for It, Nakamura! Anime Adaptation Announced
In addition to registering an official anime website and X account, the manga author’s X account also shared a special illustration featuring the main characters of their series, such as Okuto Nakamura and Aiki Hirose, as a commemorative gesture.
Syundei is the author and illustrator of Go for It, Nakamura!, which is considered to be their most influential work. However, they have also created other boys’ love manga series such as Total Eclipse of the Eternal Heart and Onborobachi.
The one-shot story of the manga series was first published in Akane Shinsha on December 27, 2014. It gained popularity and soon began releasing regular chapters. After 11 chapters were compiled into a single volume, the series concluded its serialization on August 27, 2016. However, almost a year later, the manga was renewed for a sequel titled Go for It, Nakamura! which started its publication on June 28, 2017. The sequel series also came to an end on June 30, 2021, with 9 chapters compiled into one volume.
Seven Seas Entertainment released the English versions of the series on September 15, 2017, with both the prequel and sequel volumes being published in July 2018 and July 2022, respectively.
A brief synopsis of Go for It, Nakamura!
“Nakamura, don’t give up!”is a popular boys’ love manga series that revolves around Okuto Nakamura, a closeted male protagonist who develops feelings for his classmate Aiki Hirose. Since starting school, Nakamura has been enamored with Hirose and constantly seeks opportunities to talk to him. However, his social ineptitude causes him to miss every chance.
Despite facing these challenges, Nakamura still summons the courage to make an impression in front of Hirose. However, his naturally airheaded nature causes him to make a comical impression, leaving him with regret. Fortunately, Nakamura’s class is assigned group activities, which may serve as a golden opportunity for him to catch his crush’s attention.
