In episode 7 of Loser Ranger, titled The Zigzag Road to the Final Exam!, Fighter D was surprised to discover that he was not intended to be Kai Shion’s teammate, but rather his opponent. Shortly after, he also discovered the motivation behind Kai’s desire to become an official Dragon Keeper.

Despite the trust that had formed between them, Shion ultimately betrayed Hibiki by joining forces with four other candidates in an attempt to take the keys away from the monster actor. In retaliation, Hibiki united with the remaining candidates and received the key from Yumeko Suzukiri, but unfortunately, it was soon snatched away.

In another location, Fighter D encountered Lord Peltrola, a monstrous boss who was causing chaos in search of a specific item.
