It is undeniable that Satoru Gojo met his end while battling Ryomen Sukuna, which led some to question his legacy due to his famous “Nah, I’d win”remark and the rivalry between their respective fanbases. Nonetheless, losing to the series’ ultimate sorcerer doesn’t tarnish Gojo’s legacy; his performance remains commendable as he achieved impressive feats even in defeat.

Among his significant accomplishments was the destruction of Mahoraga, a Shikigami believed to be nearly unbreakable. Gojo also faced Mahoraga, Sukuna, and Agito simultaneously—a task no other character could have managed under similar circumstances.

Additionally, Gojo executed an Unlimited Hollow Purple attack, successfully landing a Black Flash on Sukuna—possibly becoming the best individual to strike the King of Curses with this deadly technique. Impressively, he even inflicted brain damage on Sukuna; an occurrence that didn’t happen with any other sorcerers that Sukuna fought afterward. Furthermore, earning respect from Sukuna, known for his arrogance, speaks volumes of Gojo’s prowess.

It’s important to note that prior to his encounter with Sukuna, Gojo had only faced one truly challenging opponent—Toji Fushiguro during the Hidden Inventory arc of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Even with limited tough battles throughout his career, Gojo managed to hold his ground against Ryomen Sukuna, who has battled through the Heian era and confronted numerous modern sorcerers over time.

In addition, Gojo also navigated the pressure of his Cursed Energy depleting and adapted to the overwhelming situations, a challenge he had never experienced as a sorcerer. He even managed to strike a blow against an unbeatable Domain Expansion, indicating that Gojo exceeded expectations in several aspects.

One common criticism regarding the conclusion of this arc is the manner in which Gege Akutami chose to eliminate Gojo offscreen, along with the narrative and paneling of the fight. While these criticisms hold merit, it’s important to acknowledge that Satoru Gojo achieved and surpassed numerous remarkable feats throughout the battle.

Concluding Thoughts

Satoru Gojo’s demise at the hands of Sukuna may have left many fans of Jujutsu Kaisen heartbroken, but this should not overshadow the remarkable performance he exhibited. He not only managed to hold his own against the strongest character in the series but also accomplished feats unmatched by any other sorcerer in the storyline.
