Gojo’s Reappearance in Jujutsu Kaisen May Be the Biggest Sukuna Death Flag Yet

Gojo’s Reappearance in Jujutsu Kaisen May Be the Biggest Sukuna Death Flag Yet

On Thursday, May 16, 2024, the spoilers and raw scans for chapter 260 of Gege Akutami’s original manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen, were released. Although these are not official sources, the series’ track record of accurate spoilers in comparison to Shueisha’s releases allows fans to trust these leaks.

Similarly, fans of Jujutsu Kaisen were taken aback upon seeing a seemingly revived and completely recovered Satoru Gojo in the last pages of chapter 260’s leaked raw scans. Despite the lack of confirmation from the series, the individual who stood opposite Sukuna in the final panels bears a remarkable resemblance to Gojo.

Ultimately, the true significance of this vision from Sukuna remains the focal point, rather than the confirmation of Gojo’s presence. This revelation in the latest Jujutsu Kaisen leaks serves as the most ominous sign of Sukuna’s impending downfall, regardless of Gojo’s actual reappearance.

Gojo’s Return and the Latest and Biggest Sukuna Death Flag in Jujutsu Kaisen

Despite the truth of the matter, the significance of this scene as a Sukuna death flag remains unchanged. Whether or not it is indeed Gojo making his return, his ability to fight on the battlefield is evident. Given Sukuna’s weakened state, a rejuvenated Gojo would undoubtedly defeat him with ease.

Despite the possibility that it may not be Gojo and simply a manifestation from Sukuna, there is substantial evidence indicating that this is still a significant foreshadowing of death for the character. A clear and significant parallel can be drawn to the last moments of Kento Nanami, in which he encountered the apparition of his deceased high school classmate and fellow sorcerer Yu Haibara.

During Gojo’s death in the manga’s ongoing arc, a similar event unfolded. Prior to his official confirmation of death, both Gojo and his fans witnessed a vision in which he was depicted sitting in an airport alongside his deceased friends and enemies. These included Nanami, Haibara, Masamichi Yaga, Riko Amanai, Suguru Geto, Toji Fushiguro, and even Misato Kuroi.

Despite the argument that Sukuna and Gojo’s relationship had a unique context compared to the others mentioned, this may not be entirely true. Throughout the entire series, the two have consistently engaged in playful banter when speaking. Additionally, even after Gojo’s death, Sukuna showed genuine and sincere respect for his fellow “strongest”and even had a genuine smile on his face while doing so.

Sukuna and Gojo both held the titles of history’s strongest sorcerer and the strongest sorcerer of today, respectively, which only strengthens the belief that their relationship was truly one of friendship. As no one else could truly comprehend the weight and responsibility that came with their respective titles, their bond was reinforced through their battle and the evident happiness they both displayed during it. Sukuna’s words after his triumph only further solidified the depth of their connection.

Ultimately, the current developments in Jujutsu Kaisen solidify the positive relationship between the two characters. However, this also serves as a foreshadowing of Sukuna’s potential demise. Whether Gojo is still alive and able to battle or if Sukuna is simply experiencing a hallucination of his past companion, it is highly likely that Sukuna’s fate is sealed. This is further supported by similar instances in the past where this motif has been used, indicating that Sukuna may already be on the brink of death.
