Actress Gong Hyo-jin, renowned for her flawless fashion sense, has announced that she is currently taking a hiatus from following the latest trends. In a recent video titled “Gong Hyo-jin’s new closet where she ended up browsing instead of organizing,” which was posted on her YouTube channel “Dangbungan Gong Hyo-jin” on the 29th, the actress discussed her evolving fashion taste.
During the video, Gong Hyo-jin provided a glimpse into her closet and shared her thoughts on her current fashion choices. She expressed, “Recently, when people search for me online, they mostly come across cooking videos featuring dogs or just hands. It’s a bit concerning.”She went on to say, “My interest in fashion has dwindled and my closet is starting to look quite empty. Instead of impulsively buying new clothes, I am actually enjoying the process of decluttering and letting go of things that no longer serve me.”
Gong Hyo-jin shared that she prefers a more relaxed style when she is not working. She explained, “I like to dress up when I am not filming, but on my days off, I don’t mind looking a bit unkempt. Currently, while I am in the midst of shooting a movie, I opt for loose and comfortable clothing.”She also mentioned her dislike for heavy clothing and bags, as they make her feel tired. She stated, “I avoid purchasing heavy items and even when something is trendy, I won’t buy it if it’s too heavy. I easily get tired from carrying heavy things.”During filming, she is often encouraged to put down any heavy objects she may be holding, but she actually prefers to do so
Despite being known as a fashion icon in the past, Gong Hyo-jin now jokes that her style is outdated. She admits she may need to take a fashion lesson and seek advice from NewJeans’ stylist to keep up with the latest trends.
In regards to a previous drama, she discussed her approach to styling, stating, “My goal for that drama was to steer clear of using popular fashion items. I didn’t want to conform to the usual trends seen in every drama. Instead, I spent two days shopping in New York and purchased some one-of-a-kind pieces. Afterward, I enlisted the help of a designer friend to produce similar pieces in different colors, allowing me to have a diverse wardrobe.”
Gong Hyo-jin conveyed her appreciation to her YouTube followers, stating, “I believe my most devoted supporters are those who have subscribed to my YouTube channel. They have continuously shown their support for all of my endeavors. It brings me immense joy that my channel has surpassed 40,000 subscribers. My initial intention for creating this channel was to connect with my fans on a deeper level and I am thrilled to see that my videos are being enjoyed by so many. I assure my subscribers that I will continue to produce content for them.”
