“Gong Hyo-jin Shares Heartfelt Story of Disappointment and Tears Regarding Kevin Oh’s Proposal Nullification”

On January 6th, the YouTube channel “Zzanbro Shin Dong-yup” debuted a video featuring renowned actors Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Min-ho. Their appearance served as a promotional showcase for their upcoming weekend drama, “When the Stars Gossip” , a project that took an entire year to film, largely due to the complexities of depicting zero gravity scenes.

During the conversation, Lee Min-ho humorously shared, “Going to space was on my bucket list, and I even paid a visit to SpaceX headquarters. But after working on this drama, that dream faded. Discovering zero gravity is quite a challenge!” This elicited laughter from the audience.

The discussion took a personal turn when marriage was mentioned. Gong Hyo-jin revealed, “Before the drama premiered, I was in the midst of wedding preparations, which heightened my worries.” In October 2022, she married singer Kevin Oh, who is a decade younger, garnering significant media coverage.

Comedian Shin Dong-yup interjected, “Speaking of marriage, I had a chance to meet Kevin Oh,” prompting Lee Min-ho to humorously excuse himself to the restroom. In his absence, Gong Hyo-jin shared anecdotes about her husband, who is currently in military service.

Reflecting on her experiences as a “gomshin” (a term used for women waiting for their partners in the army), Gong Hyo-jin shared, “This situation intensifies our honeymoon phase, and I often find myself in tears whenever we part ways.” Shin Dong-yup consoled her with heartfelt advice, saying, “View this challenging phase as a unique and special time in your life—consider it a gift.” When asked about visiting him, she noted, “I have seen him. Only family can pick him up for outings, so I usually go myself.”

Upon Lee Min-ho’s return, he jokingly quipped, “So, are we done discussing your husband now?” In response, Gong Hyo-jin playfully retorted, “You wouldn’t believe how many times Min-ho expressed he was ‘jealous’ after my wedding.”

During the interview, Gong Hyo-jin recounted her proposal story. “We were out walking the dog by the Bukhan River, enjoying hamburgers outdoors, when Kevin decided to test his camera. I thought he was simply taking pictures, and then suddenly, he proposed.”

However, she candidly admitted, “At first, there was no music or any special ambiance. He simply asked, ‘Do you marry me?’ I told him to repeat it and declared it nullified. I felt let down initially, but when we returned home, he had prepared a beautiful surprise.”

She elaborated further, “The house was filled with pollen, and he had written ten heartfelt cards. As I read them, I was moved to tears; the messages told a story with a clear beginning, middle, and end. He included drawings and our photos. When I opened the door, he was waiting with the ring.” Gong Hyo-jin reflected, “Beginning the proposal with a letdown turned out to be crucial. I used to wonder why people cried during proposals, but I experienced it firsthand and cried abundantly.”
