Goodbye Sukuna, it’s time to leave the Jujutsu Kaisen universe

The highly anticipated release of Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259 is scheduled for May 13, 2024. This early release could potentially bring disastrous consequences for Sukuna, as the powerful tag team of protagonists has been reunited.

The chapter focuses on the death of Choso, who sacrificed himself to protect his brother. Following Choso’s death, the protagonist’s determination falters and he considers giving up. However, the arrival of Aoi Todou renews Itadori’s determination, as he believes he now has a chance to defeat the weakened King of Curses.

Prior to this, the duo of Itadori and Aoi had been unbeatable, effortlessly defeating every opponent they faced, whether it was a powerful cursed spirit or anyone else. This could potentially lead to the downfall of the arrogant King of Curses, who continues to mock and underestimate the cursed sorcerers.

In Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 259, the King of Curses begins the chapter by launching an attack on the protagonist using his Divine Flames. However, Choso steps in and sacrifices himself to protect Itadori. Itadori bids a final farewell to his older brother.

Subsequently, as the protagonist expresses a desire to withdraw from battling the King of Curses, Aoi appears with a bandaged hand. He assures Itadori that everyone is probably safe, instilling the protagonist with the determination to continue their fight.

In a flashback, it is disclosed that Aoi had a plan that he couldn’t share with Yuji because of their ‘resonance’ with Sukuna as his vessel. As the narrator announces Sukuna’s weakened state, the question remains: will Aoi and Itadori’s unbeaten record against the King of Curses continue?

During the Kyoto Sister School Goodwill arc, Aoi was on the lookout for someone who shared his preferences when it came to women. Fortunately, he found Itadori, the one destined to be his student. For the rest of the arc, Aoi dedicated his time to teaching Itadori the special-grade cursed technique, Black Flash.

During their exam’s final challenge, Aoi and Itadori battled against the powerful cursed spirit, Hanami. Utilizing Aoi’s Boogie Woogie and Itadori’s Black Flash, the duo managed to defeat the spirit and even push it to resort to its domain expansion. However, the arrival of Gojo Satoru ultimately caused the cursed spirit to retreat.

During the Shibuya arc, the tag team joins forces once more to face off against another special-grade cursed spirit, Mahito. With Nanami and Nobara already defeated by Mahito, the protagonist had lost all hope. Just as the cursed spirit is about to deliver the final blow, Aoi suddenly appears and rescues the protagonist.

Later, the protagonist is infused with enough fighting spirit by Itadori to collectively overpower Mahito. While chasing a defeated Mahito, Itadori comes face to face with Kenjaku, who absorbs the cursed spirit, ultimately bringing an end to its existence.

Remarkably, this is the initial encounter between the two sorcerers and the King of Curses. Given their nearly flawless success rate, Aoi and Itadori’s joint efforts could potentially lead to the downfall of the King of Curses, especially considering his limited ability to employ his cursed technique in combat.
