Shiori assisted Takahashi Satoshi in locating his library card during the previous episode. She also learned that he was a second-year medical student, which piqued her interest as she shared the same passion. However, she was taken aback when she discovered his fascination with the legend of elderly individuals regaining their youth.
The conversation then shifted to Shiori’s personal career goals. She had been greatly inspired by her father, who was a doctor, but also felt a strong desire to show gratitude towards her grandparents for their unwavering support. Shouzou, who happened to be nearby, overheard this and was deeply moved to tears.
The episode illustrated how Shiori and Satoshi’s regular meetings at the library sparked an interest in Shiori towards him, largely due to his relaxed demeanor. Eventually, upon discovering that Satoshi’s grandparents had also reversed in age, Shiori arranged for her own grandparents to meet with them.
Despite initially getting along well, the grandparents’ relationship may have been strengthened by the fact that they finally had someone who could relate to their situation. However, there was a disagreement between Satoshi’s grandmother, Setsu, and Ine about which one of them had a more ideal spouse.
As a result, a competition ensued in which both Shouzou and Satoshi’s grandfather Hajime were compelled to take part. Each of them emerged victorious in one round. But once Ine and Setsu came to the realization that pitting their beloveds against each other was pointless, they agreed to cancel the third round and instead enjoy a picnic together.
Afterwards, Shiori requested Ine’s assistance in learning how to cook. With Ine’s guidance, she was able to make delicious chicken karaage, which she later shared with Satoshi at the library.
The episode also depicted Mino’s father expressing concern over his daughter’s decisions. Nevertheless, Ine reminded him of his own rebellious tendencies during his youth. This was a result of a physical altercation that ultimately led him to meet his future spouse.
Despite Mino’s forgetfulness in leaving her bento box at home, which had been prepared by Ine, her grandmother was able to catch up with her train by cycling and lifted her spirits.
