Gretchen Adler, TikTok Tradwife, Reacts to SNL Parody of Her Life

SNL recently took a humorous jab at some of the trending influencers, spotlighting Gretchen Adler’s life as a tradwife. Following the skit’s rise in popularity, Adler expressed her delight that the show chose to feature her unique lifestyle.

On October 19, NBC’s renowned Saturday Night Live added its own comedic twist to viral sensations. Comedian Heidi Gardner adeptly portrayed the real-life tradwife Gretchen Adler, known widely on TikTok, to deliver a side-splitting impression.

Adler has garnered a following of 85K fans under the handle ‘thehealthywife’, where she showcases her passion for home-cooked meals, primarily using ingredients sourced from her farm.

Embracing the tradwife lifestyle, Adler prioritizes traditional gender roles within her marriage and dedicates herself significantly to her family-centered home life.

She even shared her experience of processing chickens on her farm, an anecdote that Gardner included in her humorous SNL portrayal.

In the comedic segment, Gardner donned attire reminiscent of Adler’s style, even accessorizing with a ring similar to Adler’s. While playfully kneading a piece of beef, she humorously recounted her efforts to meet her husband’s dinner requests.

“My husband wanted beef tacos today, and I definitely wanted to impress him. So, I went ahead and slaughtered our cow and harvested the corn myself,” Gardner quipped.

After the sketch gained traction online, Adler was taken aback by how closely the parody mirrored her own words. “Seeing it was surreal; it was almost verbatim to what I’ve shared,” noted the tradwife.

“It’s pretty wild that SNL decided to reenact my life. It’s funny to witness, especially when a comedian is portraying it, yet I have videos discussing how we handle slaughtering chickens and cooking them ourselves,” she explained.

“I was amazed at how accurately they depicted the tradwife role along with imitating my expressions, my kitchen setup, and even my ring—it was all quite hilarious,” she added.

Adler also expressed her joy that SNL highlighted the significance of the tradwife role within households. “I think it’s fantastic that they are bringing attention to such an important aspect, which is being a tradwife,” she remarked.

“This helps in making it more recognized. There’s a growing community of women interested in the tradwife lifestyle… social media has allowed us to connect and see the many who embrace this way of living.”

In the same episode, SNL comedians humorously targeted other TikTok influencers, such as food critic Keith Lee, Twitch’s Kai Cenat, and The Costco Guys.
