A recent GTA 6 leak revealed the game’s control layout, which quickly got fans excited due to new features coming soon.
It’s been over ten years since the last Grand Theft Auto game was launched, and even though a first trailer for GTA 6 was released, the wait to get our hands on this game is still long.
While gameplay leaks in 2022 revealed quite a bit about the game before Rockstar officially announced GTA 6, a new leak recently showed off the game’s controls, allowing future players to figure out exactly what each one does. key will be used, while announcing new features.

While pressing L3 once again allows you to crouch, you will now be able to hold L3 to crouch. This should come in handy during intense shootouts, hiding from police, and even during undercover missions.
Staying on the analog sticks, R3 will now allow you to change the hand holding a weapon. We think this feature might be related to aiming while driving.
Triangle/Y, meanwhile, will be used to pick up items, so expect a lot more gameplay mechanics for non-weapon items in the upcoming GTA experience.
Notably missing from this leak is no feature for R1/RB. In GTA 5, this button allowed players to quickly take cover, but it appears that GTA 6 will use an automatic cover system.
It’s unlikely that Rockstar will leave R1/RB vacant, though, so it’ll be very interesting to see what kind of new features the developers have in store.
Finally, square on PlayStation or X on Xbox, which was used for jumping and diving in GTA 5, is also absent. Once again, this raises some questions about what the developers have planned.
As soon as this leak came out, fans showed their excitement, with many appreciating that Rockstar seemed to be adding some highly requested features.
“HOLD TO LIE DOWN?! Hell yea baby!” exclaimed one of them.
“Crawling (getting down on your stomach) is so much more useful than switching hands for the weapon… And the d-pad buttons that aren’t labeled yet should be for leaning left and right behind a corner,” adds another.
Of course, this could all change during the end of the game’s development, but at least we now have a small idea of how the gameplay will be improved in GTA 6.
