
Recent insights suggest that GTA 6 might hit the PC platform merely months after its anticipated launch on consoles. These comments come from Corsair Gaming, a well-known name in PC components.
Scheduled for a fall 2025 release on PlayStation and Xbox, Rockstar Games’ strategy regarding a PC version of the highly anticipated title remains largely unclear. However, Take-Two Interactive has hinted at a PC version’s eventual release. CEO Strauss Zelnick has almost confirmed the existence of a PC port, leaving many curious about its timeline.
The timeline for the PC release of titles from the Grand Theft Auto series has been inconsistent. Players experienced a lengthy nearly two-year wait for are GTA 5’s PC version, in contrast to the one-year gap following Red Dead Redemption 2‘s console launch. This inconsistency raises hopes that the gap might narrow for GTA 6.
Potential Release Timeline for GTA 6 on PC
In a recent earnings call, Ronald van Veen, VP of Finance and Investor Relations at Corsair, discussed GTA 6. He reaffirmed Take-Two’s plans to debut the game on consoles in fall 2025, additionally suggesting that the PC version could launch in early 2026.
“GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that later on in the year for console. My understanding now is that it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early ’26 for PC, ” van Veen stated during the call.

As of now, Rockstar has not divulged any new information regarding GTA 6 since December 2023. Such declarations should be honestly taken with caution, as neither Take-Two nor Rockstar has publicly confirmed these specifics.
Nevertheless, an early 2026 launch for the PC version appears plausible, especially in light of Zelnick’s previous remarks about the success of Take-Two’s PC titles. He highlighted in an IGN interview that PC adaptations of multiplatform games can account for around 40% of total sales.
