Guide on Reporting a Player in Darktide: Step-by-Step Instructions

While the Warhammer universe often embodies a dark and foreboding atmosphere, the online community surrounding Warhammer 40K: Darktide stands out for its warmth and camaraderie. However, a handful of players, commonly referred to as “heretics,”can disrupt the enjoyment for others. To address this, the recent “Grim Protocols”update has introduced a user-friendly reporting system designed to maintain the community’s integrity. Here’s how you can report a player in Darktide and allow the Adeptus Mechanicus to determine the appropriate course of action.

How to Report a Player in Darktide

Reporting disruptive players is now streamlined through the Social menu in Darktide. This allows players to select a reason for their report and provide an account of the issue encountered.

  1. Press Escape in Darktide and navigate to the Social menu option.

The available report reasons in Darktide include:

  • Inappropriate Name
  • Communication Abuse
  • Griefing
  • Cheating
  • AFK (Away From Keyboard)

Once you’ve completed the form, simply press the Report button to submit your report to Fatshark for review. They will take the necessary actions based on the details provided. As this is a newly implemented feature, its responsiveness and effectiveness will unfold over time, and it is accessible to players on all platforms.

New Disconnection Penalties

In conjunction with the reporting capabilities, Darktide has instituted new penalties for players who disconnect from matches to evade being “downed,” especially during strenuous penances. Players who disconnect will now resume play with the health they had at the moment of disconnection. Furthermore, those who forcibly exit the game (e.g., ALT+F4) to escape adverse situations will be respawned in a restrained state.

It’s important to note that if a player leaves a mission without reconnecting, this will automatically be recorded as a loss for them. Nevertheless, the remaining players can still complete the mission, which, if successful, will be considered a win for those who stayed.

Overall, the new reporting feature enhances the overall experience in Darktide, further solidifying its reputation as an engaging title. The game has seen various improvements and is now available on PS5, complete with crossplay functionality.
