There are a plethora of bird Pokémon in the popular mobile game Pokémon Go. While you can easily catch Pidgey almost anywhere, some avian creatures, like Vullaby, can be quite elusive.
This charming vulture Pokémon, Vullaby, was introduced in Generation 5 as a counterpart to Rufflet. Although it’s a small bird that poses no danger, its evolved form, Mandibuzz, stands out as a formidable contender in both the Great and Ultra Leagues of Pokémon Go.
Typically, Vullaby is rare in Pokémon Go and primarily appears in Eggs, but it’s currently enjoying increased availability due to the ongoing Pokémon Go Legendary Heroes event. Now is the perfect time to bolster your Pokémon collection with this delightful bird. Here’s how you can catch one!
How to Catch Vullaby in Pokémon Go
This tiny vulture has been part of the mobile gaming phenomenon since 2020. Thanks to the Legendary Heroes event, here are all the current ways to catch Vullaby in Pokémon Go:
- Encountering it in the wild.
- Hatching from 12 km Eggs.
- As a reward for completing the “Shield Path”tasks in the Legendary Heroes Timed Research.
Currently, Vullaby is among the Timed Research encounters available during the Legendary Heroes event. Players need to select the Shield path to earn an encounter with Vullaby; choosing the Sword path will instead lead to an encounter with Rufflet.
After the event concludes, players will only be able to acquire Vullaby from 12 km Eggs.
Evolving Vullaby into Mandibuzz
Evolving Vullaby is a straightforward process, as it only progresses to one evolution and doesn’t require special items or Buddy tasks.
To evolve Vullaby into Mandibuzz, players need to collect and feed it 50 Candy.
Given the rarity of catching Vullaby, players should take full advantage of the event to capture as many as possible. Also, remember that using Pinap Berries can help double your Candy rewards.
Can Vullaby Be Shiny?
Yes, Shiny Vullaby is available in Pokémon Go. It first appeared in the game during the “A Looming Shadow Returns!”event in 2021.
The visual difference between regular and Shiny Vullaby is subtle, mainly featuring variations in color saturation. However, the evolution into Shiny Mandibuzz showcases a more pronounced transformation, including a change in chest fur color.
