Treyarch took community feedback into account regarding the visuals of Liberty Falls, which were deemed lacking during CoD Next, and they decided to completely revamp it. The rework aimed to invoke the aesthetics of classic Zombies maps, featuring darker lighting and a more eerie ambiance.

The last-minute enhancements resulted in a surge of players switching from Multiplayer to Zombies, largely due to the overwhelmingly positive reviews.

If you’re gearing up to explore Liberty Falls and are intent on tackling that Easter Egg, here’s what you should know. Get ready, as there’s plenty of information to digest.

How to Reach Hilltop Church

To navigate to the Hilltop Church effectively, consider following these steps. While it may take you on a roundabout route, it grants access to the Mystery Box along the way:

Start by entering Liberty Falls and open the locked barrier situated between the ice cream shop and the Fast-forward shop.
Search for Olly’s Shop and circle around it, unlocking the gate directly in front of you.
Ascend the stairs and proceed straight, going up two more flights shortly thereafter.
Continue straight until spotting a crafting bench, then veer left past the building. Unlock the door ahead.
Find the front of the church and unlock its main entrance.

Interact with the Church Machine

Upon entering the church, engage with the large machine on your right by pressing Square on PlayStation or X on Xbox.
You will hear a dialogue confirming your interaction with the machine.

How to Acquire a Jet Gun

The Thrustodyne M23 Wonder Weapon, commonly referred to as the Jet Gun, can either be obtained from the Mystery Box or crafted.

Using the Mystery Box

The Mystery Box appears at random locations and costs 950 Essence to use. The chances of pulling a Wonder Weapon are slim, so be prepared to try your luck several times before you secure the Jet Gun. Additionally, there’s always the possibility of encountering a teddy bear, which will shift the Mystery Box’s location.

Gather Three LTG Device Parts Using the Jet Gun

Return to the church and hold the interact button on the machine we mentioned earlier. A hat will appear on the balcony above the church entrance. Use the Jet Gun to pull in the hat.
Next, head to Washington Avenue and find Buzz’s Cuts barbershop. Climb onto a vehicle and retrieve an object from the right window above the barbershop.

Lastly, visit the comic store near the map’s entrance and extract an item from the broken ceiling above the counter.

Construct the LTG Device

Use the zip-line that runs over the shops on Washington Avenue to reach the rooftop of the Bank and find the LTG Device crafting table on the far side of the zip-line.

Employ the LTG Device

Travel back to the church and collect an Aether Canister from the machine.
Transport the canister to the gas station located near your spawn point and place it beside one of the ground traps.

Set down the LTG device and defend the area for 60 seconds against zombies.
An Abomination will appear and you’ll need to capture it using the Aether Canister.
Weaken the Abomination and eliminate it while it’s stunned by the trap next to the Aether Canister; this will capture its essence.

How to Utilize the Strauss Counter

Return the Aether Canister to the machine in the church to receive the Strauss Counter.
In front of the bowling alley hill, you will find a machine nestled in the grass.

Activate the Strauss Counter in front of the machine by pressing the button typically used for Tactical equipment.
Engage the interact button to activate the machine.
Match the machine’s color to the Strauss Counter.

Find Two More Machines

Near the top of the street by the church is a white house.
The second machine can be found in the backyard.

Use the Strauss Counter on both machines and match their colors accordingly.
The last machine is situated on the rooftop of the Bank, accessible via the zip-line.

Activating the Second Aether Canister

A second Aether Canister will emerge from the ground in the spawn area.

Retrieve the LTG Device from where you left it to capture the Abomination.
Set the Aether Canister next to a trap on the street that leads to the church.
Position the LTG Device at a designated spot in the Graveyard.
Defend this area for 60 seconds.
Attract the Mangler that spawns to the Aether Canister you’ve placed.
Kill the Mangler while it’s stunned by the trap, allowing its essence to be captured in the Aether Canister.
Transport the Aether Canister back to the church machine.

Prepare for the Final Battle

Once all three canisters are deposited into the machine, you can activate it for the final showdown. Before doing this, we advise maximizing your gear by using the Pack-a-Punch machine for weapon upgrades, enhancing weapon rarity via the Arsenal, acquiring better armor, and purchasing any useful Perks for survival.

When you’re ready, trigger the machine. You’ll face three challenging waves of zombies, including elite Manglers and Abominations during this phase.

Upon vanquishing all the zombies, the Easter Egg will commence. We won’t spoil the subsequent events.
