Guide to Emoting in Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 has captivated players with its striking visuals and intense gameplay, especially in Player versus Player (PvP) mode. The brutal clashes between Space Marines are not only about combat strategy; they also allow players to showcase their supremacy through emotes. The latest free Datavault update introduces emotes, adding an exciting layer to the game’s social interaction. This guide will walk you through how to effectively use these emotes in the game.

To activate emotes, you simply need to press and hold the “B” key, which will bring up the emote wheel on your screen. Within this wheel, you will find six unique emotes available for free as part of the Datavault update. Once the wheel is open, navigate through the options using your mouse, and upon releasing the “B” key, the selected emote will be performed.

The last emote you performed becomes your “quick” emote. This means that you can quickly execute it by tapping the “B” key instead of opening the wheel every time. Remember, merely tapping “B” allows for a quick emote display, while holding it launches the wheel interface for more options.

If you find the “B” key awkward to reach, there’s good news: you can reassign it to any other button that feels more comfortable for frequent use.

Emotes serve as an effective non-verbal communication tool, particularly in situations where teammates may not have microphones or prefer not to engage in voice chat. They can guide fellow players during Operations mode, indicating locations or strategies without the need for spoken words. This is especially crucial in challenging scenarios, where clear communication is vital for success.

The integration of emotes was a highly sought-after feature by the player community, with numerous requests flooding forums and social media since the game’s launch. Fans expressed their desire for these features, and while they have finally arrived, it took about five months for the developers to deliver on these requests.

Fortunately, it seems that the developers are attuned to the community’s wishes, as they have shared a roadmap indicating exciting content planned for 2025. Given that the emote system is already operational, we can expect additional emotes to be introduced in due course.

There is speculation that future emotes may be linked to in-game achievements or challenges, providing players with new goals to aim for within the game.
