Guide to Joining the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta

Scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. To give players a taste of the game, there will be a free open beta. Here’s how you can participate in the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta.

The open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds will be divided into two phases. The first phase is exclusively for PlayStation Plus members using PlayStation 5, while the second phase opens it up to everyone on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Below are the timings for the open beta access:

  • PlayStation Plus Exclusive Access: October 28, 2024, at 8:00 PM PT to October 30, 2024, at 7:59 PM PT
  • General Access for PlayStation 5, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S: October 31, 2024, at 8:00 PM PT to November 3, 2024, at 6:59 PM PT

Joining the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta

To participate in the open beta, PlayStation Plus users can download it from the PlayStation Store, as it has its own dedicated section apart from the main game’s listing. The beta versions for Xbox Series X|S and Steam will be released shortly before the second phase begins.

Participants in the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta can look forward to the following features:

  • Comprehensive character customization for hunters and Palicos
  • Introduction cutscene and training for the Chatacabra hunt
  • Doshaguma Hunt experience
  • Multiplayer functionality via SOS Flare for collaboration with up to three other players or NPCs

Any characters created during the beta will be able to transfer to the full version on the same account upon release. However, other progress made during the beta will not carry over.

Beta participants will earn rewards to use in the full game, including the Stuffed Felyne Teddy Pendant and the Open Beta Test Bonus Item Pack, which consists of ten Mega Potions, five Rations, five Lifepowder, five Armor Spheres, two Max Potions, two Herbal Medicines, and two Nulberries.
