In God of War Ragnarok, the camera system mirrors that of the 2018 installment, featuring an uninterrupted shot throughout the game. This design allows cutscenes and gameplay to integrate smoothly, resulting in no perceptible transitions. The experience is enhanced by a personal over-the-shoulder camera view, though not all players appreciate this choice, especially since there are no Field of View (FOV) controls available in-game. Fortunately, modders have stepped in to fill this gap, and you can now easily adjust the FOV in God of War Ragnarok on PC thanks to a mod created by the talented modder Rose.
How to Adjust FOV in God of War Ragnarok on PC
The mod developed by Rose enables players to dynamically alter the FOV during both gameplay and cutscenes. While this might lead to some awkward camera shifts during game transitions, the mod significantly enhances gameplay, exploration, and combat experiences.
Check out this demonstration showcasing the difference in FOV in God of War Ragnarok when it’s adjusted using the mod:
Using the FOV adjustment tool is straightforward.
- First, navigate to the official GitHub page and download GoWR.FOV.changer.v1.0.zip from the Assets section.
- Extract the contents of the zip file.
- Open God of War Ragnarok and load your game save.
- Minimize the game and run GoWR FOV changer.exe.
- Resume your game and press F9 to activate the tool.
- To adjust the FOV, press F4 to increase the field of view, and F3 to decrease it. The tool will update the FOV dynamically, displaying the current value as well.
Keep in mind that this tool must remain active in the background while playing God of War Ragnarok, and you will need to adjust the FOV settings each time you launch the game. However, many players find the enhanced FOV to be well worth the effort, as it addresses a common request among the community.
