Step-by-Step Guide: Acquiring Gosaku’s Armor in Ghost of Tsushima
To acquire Gosaku’s Armor, the player must first complete The Unbreakable Gosaku Mythic Tale, which becomes accessible after unlocking the Toyotama region during Act 2. To initiate the mythic tale, speak with the musician Yamato at the southern entrance of Akashima Village in the Akashima Prefecture.
The story will be told of a farmer who took the armor in order to defend his village against bandits. Following his passing, the armor was secured at a specific location that requires the acquisition of six keys to access. These keys were distributed among farming families in the area, and it will be necessary to free the farms from the Mongols in order to obtain the keys needed to unlock Gosaku’s Armor.

To rescue the villagers from the Mongols, make your way to the designated areas. But be cautious, as the Mongols may harm the hostages if they see you in their territory. Use stealth to approach the hostages before engaging in direct combat with your enemies.
Upon successfully freeing the village from the Mongols and releasing the prisoners, you will be granted a key to access the location where Gosaku’s Armor is kept. To continue your journey, liberate all six villages and obtain the necessary keys.
Upon reaching the vicinity of the rice fields in the Toyotama region’s Akashima Prefecture, a marker will appear on your map. This marker will guide you to the precise location where Gosaku’s Armor is hidden. However, be cautious as Mongols may ambush you along the way.
After defeating the Mongols, proceed to the stone steps which will lead you to a locked door. Use the door to access the hidden passage behind it. Utilize your parkour skills to reach the top of the cliff and retrieve the Gosaku’s Armor and Gosaku’s Headband from the chest. These items are your reward for completing this challenge.
