The legendary Candy Cutlass has made a return to the world of AUT as part of this year’s festive Christmas Celebration. Players can obtain this sought-after weapon by completing a special quest given by the Santa Claus NPC. Below is an informative guide to help you locate Santa Claus and successfully finish the quest to acquire the Candy Cutlass.
How to Unlock the Candy Cutlass in AUT
Your journey begins by locating the Santa Claus NPC, who can be found in the center of town, conveniently situated behind a blue wall, as illustrated in the image above. Interacting with him will initiate the quest.
Upon speaking with Santa, he will task you with defeating 20 Hooligans located in the Skate Park area. To find this location, head east from Santa’s position to reach an isolated Skate Park where you’ll encounter multiple Hooligan-type enemies.
Engage these adversaries using your abilities; they pose a minimal threat and can only stun you through consecutive hits. Avoid being stunned by keeping your distance and managing your attacks carefully. Once you have successfully vanquished 20 Hooligans, return to Santa Claus to continue the quest.
The next challenge involves obtaining the Candy Cutlass Blade, which is dropped by the Grumpus Boss. This formidable foe spawns in the Ice Fortress every 45 minutes. To reach the Ice Fortress, speak to the Bawxstar NPC located near the Christmas Tree in the town center.
Once at the Ice Fortress, be prepared for the boss fight. Grumpus has two primary attack patterns: a ground slam that can be dodged and close-range punches that are counterable with precise movement. Stay alert to his attack cues and reposition accordingly. If you’re in a group, remember that you need to deal at least 10% of Grumpus’s total health to qualify for a drop upon his defeat. Keep in mind, there’s only a 45% chance of receiving the Candy Cutlass Blade, which means you may need to defeat Grumpus multiple times to obtain the item.
After acquiring the Candy Cutlass Blade, return to Santa Claus with the item in your inventory. He will then transform it into the limited edition Candy Cutlass featuring new movesets, ready for you to enjoy on your adventures!
