NBA 2K players can still utilize Player Lock in NBA 2K25, although it may be somewhat hidden and has been removed from certain modes. Here’s how to locate it.
The beginning of September is an exciting time for NBA enthusiasts. Not only does the new season approach, but it’s also when the latest 2K game is released.
This year, NBA 2K25 introduces a variety of new features while retaining many beloved elements. MyCareer returns with an exciting new storyline, the WNBA mode allows you to compete against players like Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson to establish yourself as the greatest of all time, and Eras mode is also available.
However, not everything has been received positively; some players have expressed dissatisfaction regarding reduced free VC rewards and limited access to Player Lock in Play Now Online.
Player Lock is still available in certain modes, such as MyNBA, but it may be a bit challenging to find. To access it in MyNBA mode, open the navigation menu, scroll down to options, then go to settings, and click on position. In the position menu, you will find the options for Player Lock and Position Lock. Select your preference, and it will save automatically.
NBA 2K25 Player Lock Settings

- You can now Player or Position Lock in MyNBA!
Take on Kevin Durant’s career and remain with the Warriors in 2K25.
Keep in mind that if you’re using Player Lock, you cannot also use Position Lock; you’ll need to choose one option.
This mode differs from the popular MyCareer experience as you immerse yourself in the life of your selected NBA player rather than your own. Additionally, you can rewrite history with Eras mode, which adds to the enjoyment.
It’s also a great method to earn quick VC in NBA 2K25.
