In the realm of survival games, construction plays a vital role, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds is no exception. Players will find themselves creating various structures, including benches, weapons, and lodges, both within their bases and in the wilderness. While beginners might find the process of placing, rotating, and building straightforward, the question of how to remove these structures might arise.
This article outlines the steps necessary to delete any improperly placed or unnecessary structures in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, as well as how to recover the resources used in their creation.
How to Delete Building Structures in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
When you construct a building in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, specific resources from your inventory are automatically consumed. If you are dissatisfied with a placement—whether due to aesthetics or functionality—you can readily delete the structure and reclaim your resources. This process is simple and immediate, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Begin by approaching the structure you intend to delete.

- Press B to activate Build Mode.
- Once in Build Mode, switch to Repair Mode by pressing T.

- Now, you have the option to repair the structure using a left click or completely delete it by pressing the middle mouse button.

Once a structure is deleted, the resources used for its construction will be returned to your inventory. Although it’s unclear if you always retrieve every material, my experience indicates that you typically do. This capability is particularly useful when you’re exploring the wild and need to craft temporary items like campfires or benches, allowing you to optimize resource usage rather than leave materials behind.
It’s important to note that when you delete a foundational component of a structure that supports additional interconnected pieces, the entire assembly will be erased. For instance, I once utilized three stair segments to build a continuous staircase.

When I removed the foundational stair segment, the entire staircase collapsed, refunding my resources. Unlike some other survival games where players can exploit glitches to reach elevated areas, this is not feasible in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.

While the delete function is somewhat hidden within the repair mode of build mode, it remains effective. However, accessing it can feel cumbersome, especially during the construction of larger structures. It would be beneficial for future updates to enhance the accessibility of this feature within the build mode interface.
