Lollipop Chainsaw RePop is a remastered version of the beloved PS3 game, now available on PC and various consoles. However, players may encounter some technical issues and bugs, which we hope will be resolved in an upcoming patch. Additionally, the game currently lacks proper ultrawide support, resulting in black bars during both gameplay and cutscenes. Fortunately, Lyall from the widescreen community has created a patch that provides ultrawide support and addresses these issues.
Fixing the Lollipop Chainsaw RePop Ultrawide Issue
The ultrawide patch by Lyall eliminates pillarboxing and letterboxing from Lollipop Chainsaw RePop and also adjusts the FOV in cutscenes.
As with prior patches, installing this one is straightforward; follow the steps below:
- Visit the GitHub page
- Download the patch file by clicking on the release zip under Installation
- Extract the zip file into the game’s installation folder
After following these steps, when you launch Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, the black bars will be removed from your ultrawide setup. Here’s a comparison shot shared by Lyall.
While the default settings should suit most players, you can fine-tune the FOV and other settings by editing the SUWSF.ini file using a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++. This file can be found in the Wind64 folder inside Binaries.
Thanks to Lyall for developing and testing this patch. They have also released multiple fixes for recent games, including Ghost of Tsushima and Black Myth: Wukong.
Although it’s unlikely, we sincerely hope that the game developers will eventually implement native ultrawide support in a future update. For now, utilizing this patch is the best solution, and Lyall has done an impressive job enhancing the user interface.
