Guide to Starting Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 Quests

Guide to Starting Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 Quests

The Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred expansion is here! Here’s how to dive into the new quests and what prerequisites you need to have completed.

Continuing the narrative of Diablo 4, the Vessel of Hatred expansion unfolds after Lilith’s defeat and follows the storyline of Season 5, which hinted at Mephisto’s return. Neyrelle has escaped with the soul stone of the Lord of Hatred, Lorath is nowhere to be found, and a new militant group from the Cathedral of Light has taken control following Inarius’s downfall.

Before embarking on your adventure in the jungles of Nahantu, your Wanderer character must complete several preliminary tasks. It’s also essential to understand certain aspects of kicking off the new campaign quests based on your progress in Diablo 4.

Head to the Cathedral of Light to initiate the DLC quests.

Initiating the Vessel of Hatred DLC

To commence the Vessel of Hatred storyline, launch the game with the DLC installed. This action will trigger a new quest titled Rekindled Faith.

Travel to Kyovashad, then proceed to the Cathedral of Light to activate a new cutscene. This leads you to Lorath’s Windswept Shack and then to Gea Kul, where you’ll encounter a new ally.

Following that, the quest A Magpie in Flight will begin, sending you to Nahantu and introducing you to the Mercenaries gameplay mechanic.

Is it Necessary to Start a New Character for the DLC?

Before diving into quests, you must determine whether to create a new character or continue with an existing one for Act 7. If you prefer to progress with one of your main characters, that will take place in the Eternal Realm.

If you’ve already finished the primary campaign, you’re free to jump straight into the new quests. However, if the main story remains incomplete, you can opt to skip it and immediately engage with the DLC.

For those who haven’t completed the base story, we recommend doing so first; otherwise, you risk missing out on the valuable content you’ve paid for.

You’ll be required to navigate through the new Vessel of Hatred quests.

Previously, players had to finish the main quest to access seasonal content, but this restriction has been lifted with the DLC’s release.

Yet, you **cannot bypass the Vessel of Hatred story quests** until you’ve completed them with at least one character.

Starting a new character not only allows you to experience the new Spiritborn class but also enables participation in Season 6.

Season 6 features its own questline, occurring **simultaneously but separately** from the Vessel of Hatred and will offer seasonal players the chance to experience both adventures.

Season 6 quests differ from those in Vessel of Hatred.

Initiating Diablo 4 Season 6

You will find a new seasonal quest titled Creeping Hatred, requiring you to travel to Hawezar and speak with a Crusader known as Damond.

This interaction will kick off the Hatred Rising quests, where you’ll engage in Realmwalker events to unlock a feature called the Seething Realm.

This season replaces the Infernal Hordes from Season 5. As you continue through the seasonal quests, you can earn more significant rewards.

Engage with Crusader Damond to begin your Season 6 journey.

If you’ve obtained the DLC, you will have the opportunity to engage in these seasonal events while also exploring the Vessel of Hatred quests along with the new Spiritborn class.

While the Vessel of Hatred quests are accessible for all players who purchased the DLC in both Eternal and Seasonal Realms, the Season 6 quests remain exclusive to seasonal participants.

This differs from Season 5, which allowed both Eternal and Seasonal players to partake in particular quests throughout that season.
