Guide to Starting the Vessel of Hatred DLC in Diablo 4

The Vessel of Hatred expansion introduces a new class and a campaign that unfolds immediately after the conclusion of Diablo 4. For gamers eager to dive in, here is a guide on how to access the Vessel of Hatred DLC in Diablo 4.

How to Access the Vessel of Hatred DLC in Diablo 4

To get started, you will first need to own the Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4. This expansion can be acquired through three variants: Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions. While the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions provide additional cosmetic items and a Premium Battle Pass Token, the Standard Edition suffices for accessing the new campaign and gameplay elements.

After downloading the expansion, the character selection screen will reflect a fresh look associated with its theme and name. You can jump into the Vessel of Hatred campaign immediately with any existing Eternal Realm character, with no further settings necessary.

Players who wish to experience Season 6 in tandem with the new expansion must create a brand new character. Choose Create New Character to select your desired class, including the newly introduced Spiritborn class, and customize it to your preference. When you reach the Finalize screen, you will encounter new options available.

At the top, select Change Campaign State, where you will see two options: Start with the Original Campaign or Start the Vessel of Hatred Campaign. Opt for the latter to bypass the original campaign and jump straight into the expansion storyline.

New players engaging with the expansion will not have the ability to skip the Vessel of Hatred campaign. Once the DLC campaign is completed, players will gain the option to skip the Vessel of Hatred campaign for future characters. This means that new characters created in upcoming seasons will have a third choice available: skipping both the original and the DLC campaigns entirely.
