One of the highly-anticipated features of Destiny 2: The Final Shape is the introduction of three Exotic Class items. These items can be unlocked by players and provide unique abilities that can be used to combat the forces of Darkness.
During the first week of the expansion, players were unable to unlock the abilities until after the completion of the Salvation’s Edge raid. However, in the second week, these abilities are now available for players to obtain.
Unlocking Exotic Class Items: A Step-by-Step Guide
To gain access to the Dual Destiny activity, you must successfully complete the Overthrow event in all three available areas: The Landing, The Impasse, and The Blooming.
To successfully complete the event, you must defeat each wave. Once completed, a prompt will appear to help you locate a nearby Secret-Keeper of the Witch Queen. By driving around the designated area and monitoring your radar, you can easily find them.
Once you have completed this task in all three areas, make your way to The Blooming where you will discover a green beam of light. This beam will guide you to a specific location where you can interact and obtain the Savathun’s Envoy buff.
Once activated, a seven-minute timer will appear, signaling you to head towards the two markers on your map. At each location, you will engage in battles against Dread and ultimately face a Subjugator boss at the end.
Upon defeating this boss, either a Refracted Light or Refracted Dark will drop. You must retrieve one of these and return to the location where you received the Savathun’s Envoy buff.
Once you have completed the process for both Refracted items, the Dual Destiny mission will become available. Please note that this mission requires a second player to join you and cannot be completed alone or with only three members in your Fireteam.
To successfully complete the mission, it is crucial that your partner has the opposite Super type as you (Light and Dark). This can be challenging as both players must use callouts at specific moments, with one player having visibility of something the other does not. The mission operates similarly to a Raid, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and communication.
At the conclusion, you will face off against two Subjugators as the ultimate challenge, once again with a focus on teamwork. Then, Savathun will request that you and your teammate engage in combat. However, the choice is yours: you can either battle each other or come to a peaceful resolution.
Whether you decide to engage in battle or not, you will still have the opportunity to obtain one of the new Exotic Class items upon completion of the mission.
Best perk combinations
Currently, every Exotic Class item has a total of 16 potential Perks that it may come with. With each roll, you are given two of these Perks to utilize. It’s important to note that not all combinations are equally beneficial, which is why we have curated the top combinations for your convenience.
Essentialism (Hunter)
Caliban and Synthoceps Spirits: When combined, these Perks provide a powerful melee advantage. Caliban enables powered melee final blows to trigger an ignition, while Synthoceps increases melee damage when surrounded. Together, they give you an edge against swarms of enemies, allowing you to come out on top in close combat situations.
The Perk combination of Spirit of the Dragon and Spirit of the Coyote is specifically designed to enhance your Class ability. The Dragon Perk not only reloads your weapons, but also improves weapon handling while the ability is in use. Additionally, the Coyote Perk provides an extra charge of the Class ability, giving you more opportunities to use it and an added advantage when doing so.
Synergy between Galanor & Star-Eater: The Star-Eater’s ability to overcharge your Super with Orbs of Power is complemented by Galanor’s energy replenishment when you get hits and Final Blows with your Super. This combination creates a continuous cycle, allowing you to unleash a powerful Super and sustain it for as long as possible.
Stoicism – Titan
The combination of Spirit of Hoarfrost and Spirit of Alpha Lupi has a significant impact on your Barricade. The healing abilities of Alpha Lupi and the Stasis of Hoarfrost work together to not only keep you alive, but also slow down nearby enemies. This makes your Barricade a force to be reckoned with, making you more resilient and your enemies more susceptible to attacks.
Power of Separation & Spirit Connection: Enhance your Powered Melee attacks with a destructive blast upon impact, simultaneously shocking nearby enemies with bolts of lightning. This ability has the ability to target a single enemy or control a group, making it a versatile tool for any situation.
Spirit of the Eternal Warrior & Spirit of the Star-Eater: By overcharging your Super with Star-Eater, you can gain powerful improvements and a damage bonus when your Super ends. This allows for a prolonged period of immense strength whenever you activate your Super in any situation.
Solipsism (Warlock)
The combination of Spirit of the Stag and Spirit of Vesper allows you to summon a potent Rift that not only provides protection for any nearby ally, but also periodically releases Arc energy to harm enemies. This enables you to support your team while also damaging opponents in close proximity.
Filament’s Spirit & Vesper’s Spirit: This incredible Rift combination releases Arc damage and bestows Devour upon using an empowered Rift. Activating Devour will enable you to regain health while damaging your enemies, making staying in your Rift a viable strategy.
The Perks of Spirit of the Necrotic and Spirit of the Claw can enhance your Melee abilities. The Necrotic will poison enemies upon impact and continue to spread the condition after defeating them. Additionally, the Claw will grant you an extra Melee Charge, allowing you to utilize this ability more frequently.
