Fans were left in awe as Streamer Acai displayed impressive Fortnite Festival skills with the Nintendo DS Guitar Hero Guitar Grip controller.
This year has seen a resurgence in guitar controllers, with brands such as Hori and PDP releasing their own new versions. These newly introduced accessories are reminiscent of the popular Guitar Hero and Rock Band game controllers from the 2000s that were ubiquitous at the time.

Acai, renowned for his talent in Guitar Hero and his content, shared a video demonstrating the use of the Nintendo DS accessory. In the brief X/Twitter clip, the streamer impressively used the ‘Guitar Grip’ controller while playing Fortnite Festival on a PC.

The unique Guitar Grip controller was included with the release of Guitar Hero: World Tour for the Nintendo DS in 2008. This controller could be inserted into the GBA cartridge slot and imitate the fret of a traditional Guitar Hero console controller, allowing players to use the provided plastic plectrum stylus to strum the touch-screen display while keeping their hand free.
Despite this, it should be noted that it was not designed to be compatible with PCs. Nevertheless, Acai is no stranger to finding unconventional ways to utilize music rhythm controllers. As per the streamer, the DS accessory is functioning with the help of the FatsCo Adaptor.
This $25 adaptor, available on eBay, is designed specifically to enable the Guitar Grip to function on your PC. According to the FatsCo website, the adaptor operates by emulating the face buttons of a standard gamepad in HID mode. This means that the adaptor replaces the DS GBA slot and can be inserted into the Guitar Grip for use.
The adaptor will convert the controller into a 4-button configuration for your PC, so you will need to have your own Guitar Grip. Fortunately, these guitar grips are typically inexpensive and can often be found for a lower price than the adaptor on eBay.
In 2008, the Guitar Grip gained a reputation for causing wrist discomfort, making it less than ideal for extended gaming sessions at the Fortnite Festival. Despite this, comments on the post indicate that Acai still intends to test its effects on someone during a complete gaming session.
