A person at the gym used different items to enter the facility and was granted access multiple times, but was prevented from doing so when they attempted to use a bag of Doritos.
After realizing the high cost of a gym membership, Jayotv_ from TikTok attempted to enter Planet Fitness by scanning with anything other than a keycard.
The gym-goer’s TikTok video went viral when they used a jar of hot sauce to trick the scanner at PF into thinking they had a barcode membership and were able to enter successfully.
An employee laughed at the strange item and exclaimed, “What the hell?”After watching the viral TikTok, a viewer confessed that they would “low-key let that slide,”while another person jokingly suggested using a “pack of hot dogs”for the next scanning session.

The TikToker has also been known to use Twinkies and a bag of Doritos on different occasions, demonstrating a clever gym hack.
Although the TikToker attempted to use the chips on May 20, a Planet Fitness employee stopped them at the entrance. The employee firmly stated, “Chips will not be accepted. You must have a membership to enter.”

The employee intervened when ‘Jayotv_’ attempted to approach the machines. In the caption of their viral video, the TikToker described the employee’s actions as having a strong defense, saying, “She had 99 perimeter defense.”
One of the highlights of the 2.8M viewers’ comments was the employee’s determination to put an end to the unfair tactics being used. One viewer wrote, “She is fiercely defending that gym.”
Another person concurred that Bro was the guardian of the gym’s sanctuary.
Some viewers suggested that the TikToker purchase a membership and create a sticker with the barcode, which could then be taped onto different items. This would provide proof that they were a gym member in case they were caught, and their account appeared on the computer.
Even though he was denied entry into Planet Fitness for attempting to scan in with a bag of Doritos, the TikToker encouraged his viewers to “stay tuned”for their next try.
In addition to Jayotv_’s gym hack, another fitness-related news that gained popularity this May was shared by TikToker ‘dollyblondiee’ on May 19. She shared a video of her uncomfortable workout moment.
While training for a bodybuilding competition in October, she was approached by a random gym-goer who suggested she should lose 24 pounds. Despite being taken aback by the comment, viewers praised her for handling the unsolicited criticism with grace.
In May, gym influencer Joey Swoll publicly called out a man at the gym who had referred to a woman working out beside him as “creepy.”
Despite the primary goal of going to the gym being health and fitness, these viral incidents serve as a reminder that unexpected occurrences can take place while exercising in a public setting.
