Haikyu Final Movie: Battle at the Garbage Dump releases new MV with Karasuno vs. Nekoma sneakpeek

On Friday, May 3, 2024, the official YouTube channel for TOHO animation released a new music video collaboration for the first part of the Haikyu Final movie, titled Battle at the Garbage Dump. The music video showcases scenes of characters from both the Kurasuno High and Nekoma High volleyball teams, as well as highlights from their match featured in the film.

The music video, titled “Orange”and performed by musical group SPYAIR, features scenes from the Haikyu Final movie but does not reveal any major spoilers. Despite including footage from the film, the lack of context in these scenes prevents any potential viewers from being spoiled on important plot points.

The significance of this cannot be overstated, particularly with the upcoming international release of the Haikyu Final movie. Starting on May 30, the film will be available in select areas worldwide, with a global release in nearly every territory by June 27. The movie first premiered in Japanese theaters on Friday, February 16, 2024.

Haikyu!! Final Movie Releases New Music Video Trailer Ahead of International Releases Starting Later This Month

As previously stated, the music video for the Haikyu Final movie has been released ahead of the film’s international release dates, which will begin later this month. These premieres will occur between Thursday, May 30 and Thursday, June 27, 2024. The movie is also scheduled to debut in India, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam in May, but MediaLink has not yet confirmed the exact dates as of the time of writing.

On May 15, the film will have its premiere in the Philippines, followed by a release in Malaysia on May 16. This will be followed by premieres on May 30 in Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland (Italian-speaking), the Netherlands, Argentina, Brazil, Central America (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama), Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, and Peru.

This will be followed by premieres on May 31st in Canada, Finland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The film will then make its debut in Turkey on June 7, and in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, and French-speaking Switzerland on June 12. The remaining release dates will be on June 25 in Austria and Germany, and on June 27 in German-speaking Switzerland.

Since its release in Japan on February 16, the film has been a huge success, selling a cumulative total of 6,483,000 tickets and earning 9,267,707,450 yen (equivalent to approximately $60.63 million USD) as of April 12. In just its first three days, the film brought in 1.529 million tickets and 2,230,465,540 yen (approximately $14.83 million USD), surpassing the opening weekend performance of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM and becoming the highest-grossing film of the year in Japan so far.

The Haikyu Final movie is a two-part film project that aims to bring closure to the anime series after its first four seasons. The series is based on Haruichi Furudata’s manga series, Haikyu!!, which was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2012 and ended in July 2020.
