Fans of Haikyuu!! will now have the opportunity to directly ask the creators of the anime their questions, and it will be happening sooner than expected.
Despite ending years ago, the Haikyuu!! manga continues to maintain its incredible popularity worldwide. This can be attributed to the success of the anime adaptation by Production I.G. and the recently released film, Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle, by TOHO Animation.
After a successful theatrical release, Haikyuu!! will be hosting a special panel at Anime NYC on August 24, 2024. Guests Keiko Matsushita, an animation producer from Production I.G., and Taguchi Shoichiro from TOHO will be in attendance.

Although Haikyuu!! is adored by many, fans have had mixed feelings about it for some time. This is due to the fact that the franchise has announced its conclusion with a second movie, which will be based on Karasuno’s match against Kamomedai.
Despite being the true conclusion to the story, the final arc of Haikyuu!! will not be included, leaving long-time fans dissatisfied. Many are now requesting a fifth season of the anime instead of the second movie.
This is their opportunity to directly address the creators. As anticipated, they have prepared their inquiries for the panel. As one X/Twitter user pointed out, “Question: Why did you not produce Seasons 5, 6, and 7 of Haikyuu instead of trying to fit the remaining content into two movies?”
“Another commenter asked, “Will the movie be five hours long, or will important parts of the story be skipped, potentially ruining the ending of this beloved series?”
A third commenter expressed their desire for more OVAs based on Haikyuu Bu! They noted that the series has a dedicated fanbase and a positive story, making it a shame to not continue it. They also expressed curiosity about seeing the characters’ time skip versions.
One individual asked, “Is it possible for us to witness Fukurodani facing off against Mujinazaka at a later time?”
It is yet to be seen whether so many fans’ requests will come to fruition. The Dumpster Battle is also criticized for ignoring two of its strongest characters. Additionally, information on how to watch Haikyuu!! in chronological order can be found.
