Haliey Welch, widely recognized as the Hawk Tuah girl, has issued a response following the filing of a class-action lawsuit by investors involved in the $Hawk cryptocurrency project, which has been alleged to have been subjected to a “rug pull.”This term is often used in the crypto world to describe situations where project developers abandon their ventures, taking investors’ money with them.
Welch announced the launch of the $Hawk meme coin in early December, quickly attracting the attention of investors eager to jump on board. However, shortly after its introduction, the value of the token began to decline steeply, with numerous claims surfacing on social media suggesting that those who invested had fallen victim to the actions of unscrupulous project leaders.
The situation escalated on December 19 when investors initiated a class-action lawsuit against Overhere Ltd., the company responsible for the $Hawk project, and one of its promoters, Alex Larson Schultz. Responding to these serious allegations, Welch has now publicly addressed the crisis.

Moreover, Welch provided a link for affected investors to connect with one of the law firms involved in the legal action, showcasing her support for those impacted by the situation. This marks the first public communication from Welch since the project’s debut on December 4.
A spokesperson for Welch clarified that she was not the creator of the $Hawk project and indicated that aside from an initial sponsorship fee, there was no assurance that she would receive additional earnings from it. They also emphasized that Welch had “no control”over the project’s decisions and that her viral popularity might have been exploited by those behind the project.
Looking ahead, Welch intends to continue her podcast, Talk Tuah with Haliey Welch, once she has clarified her role and involvement with the controversial cryptocurrency project, demonstrating her determination to maintain her presence in the media landscape.
