Halloween 2024 in Pokemon Go: Introducing Morpeko and Dynamax Gastly

Pokemon Go has kicked off part one of its Halloween festivities for 2024, introducing players to Morpeko and Dynamax Gastly for the very first time.

Every October, Niantic rolls out a series of events themed around Halloween within Pokemon Go. These celebrations primarily spotlight dark and ghost-type Pokemon, incorporating various eerie elements into the Research tasks available during the festivities.

The Halloween 2024 celebration has arrived, and Pokemon Go is excited to showcase the Galarian rodent, Morpeko.

Pokemon Go Halloween 2024 Part 1 Event Schedule

The Halloween 2024 Part 1 event is set to launch on Tuesday, October 22, at 10 AM and will conclude on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 10 AM local time.

New Morpeko-themed items will be featured in the Avatar shop.

Morpeko’s Special Moves

During this event, Morpeko will make its debut with two unique moves available depending on its form—Full Belly Mode or Hangry Mode.

In its Full Belly Mode, Morpeko will utilize the Electric-type Charged Attack called Aura Wheel, which boasts 100 power and enhances the user’s Attack by one stage.

When in Hangry Mode, Morpeko will use the Dark-type Charged Attack Aura Wheel, also with 100 power and the same Attack boost.

Max Battle Encounters

This event will refresh the Max Battle experiences, introducing Dynamax Gastly. Both Gastly and Falinks will be obtainable in their shiny variants throughout the Halloween festivities.

Bonuses & New Avatar Items for Halloween 2024 Part 1

Throughout this spooky event, players in Pokemon Go can look forward to various bonuses:

Double Candy from catching Pokemon
Increased chance for Trainers at level 31 and above to earn XL candy from successful catches with Nice Throws
Enhanced likelihood of encountering Shiny Umbreon in raids and Shiny Zorua in the wild

Free Timed Research Opportunities

A new Timed Research quest will be available during the Halloween event, centered around Spiritomb and its 108 spirits. Completing the quest will yield encounters with thematic Pokemon, including Spiritomb and Morpeko.

Players must log in before the end of the event to access this research, but they have until November 3 at 8 PM local time to finish it.

Paid Timed Research Options

For the Halloween 2024 Part 1 event, two paid Timed Research quests will be offered. Trainers must purchase their tickets in the in-game shop by November 2 at 8 PM local time.

Tasks associated with both ticket options must be completed, and rewards claimed before November 3, 2024, at 8 PM local time.

For $5 USD, the rewards include:

Encounters with Pikachu, Froakie, and Rowlet in costume, as well as Spiritomb and Morpeko
