Han So-hee Addresses Mother’s Controversy: I Found Out Through the News and I am Heartbroken

On September 3rd, 9ato Entertainment, the agency representing Han So-hee, issued a statement in response to the news that was reported on September 2nd regarding the actress’s mother. They stated that this is a deeply personal matter concerning Han So-hee’s mother, and that she herself found out about it through the news and is currently experiencing immense devastation.

Despite this, the agency emphasized that the actress had no involvement in the incident. They reiterated, “We would like to emphasize that the actress was not involved in any way and that this was solely her mother’s independent action. We apologize for sharing unrelated and uncomfortable news regarding her personal life.”

On September 2nd, authorities announced that Shin, the mother of Han So-hee, had been arrested for running illegal gambling establishments. Since 2021, Shin has been accused of organizing and managing 12 illegal gambling locations and websites throughout the country, including in Ulsan, through the use of “proxy owners.”

This is not the first instance where Han So-hee’s mother has been involved in a controversy. In 2020, there were reports of Shin disappearing with lodge funds, and in 2022, she faced a lawsuit for borrowing money from an acquaintance and not returning it.

At the time, the agency also stated, “Han So-hee’s mother had used a bank account in her daughter’s name to borrow money. The account was opened without Han So-hee’s knowledge when she was a minor. However, Han So-hee has no intention of taking responsibility for the debts incurred through this account.”
