Hanni Criticizes ADOR’s New CEO for Underperformance: ‘I Don’t Think You Did Your Best…’

Hanni of NewJeans recently voiced her concerns directly to CEO Kim Joo Young, who succeeded Min Hee Jin, regarding her management of the case involving Belift Lab and the ILLIT manager.

On October 15, during a state audit conducted by the National Assembly’s Environment & Labor Committee, Hanni served as a key witness discussing the serious topic of “Workplace Bullying and Harassment.”

On the same day, CEO Kim Joo Young provided information about the incident where a Belift Lab employee allegedly discriminated against Hanni by advising ILLIT to “disregard”her.

During her testimony, Kim stated that she promptly requested the CCTV footage from HYBE after becoming aware of the issue on June 13. However, as noted in the official position from Belift Lab, the complete footage was unavailable as the incident occurred beyond HYBE’s CCTV retention timeline.

CEO Kim reassured the attendees that she exerted every effort, despite the lack of solid evidence, and remarked:

“Regrettably, based on what I know internally, our accounts conflict. I trust Hanni’s testimony and feel equally frustrated as I strive to locate supporting evidence. Unfortunately, I have not been able to access the CCTV footage.”

She reiterated her commitment but expressed regret over certain areas where she felt she could have performed better.

In response to this, Hanni confronted CEO Kim, stating:

“I’m sorry, but I don’t believe you did your best.”

The “OMG”singer elaborated:

“There were numerous actions she could have taken, and she promised from the outset to protect us. However, to fulfill that promise, she needed to fight for us. She has shown no willingness to engage, take action, or implement measures, so claiming you did your best just doesn’t resonate with me.”

Hanni urged the CEO of ADOR to take more decisive action, stating:

“If I were to express a desire for you to put forth your best effort moving forward, it seems as though we are merely going to circumvent the issue, so I truly hope you can address this matter promptly before we consider future plans.”
