Hanni from NewJeans is set to testify as a reference witness at an upcoming state audit scheduled for next week. During this event, she aims to shed light on issues concerning workplace bullying and harassment at HYBE.
On October 9th, Hanni made a public declaration about her participation in the National Assembly Environment and Labor Committee’s audit on the 15th.
Via the fan communication platform known as Phoning, the Vietnamese-Australian artist expressed:
“Hey Bunnies! I’ve made my decision! I will be attending the National Assembly audit, and I’ll be going solo!
But don’t worry. I’m doing this for myself and the members, as well as for you, Bunnies. I wanted to make sure I represent for all of us!”

She also mentioned that while she had yet to inform her manager and the company ADOR about her decision, the significance of her presence became clear to her.
This committee summoned her following allegations against Belift Lab, a subsidiary of HYBE, which Hanni claimed was intentionally ostracizing her while favoring other artists like ILLIT.
The conflict between the two groups escalated when NewJeans’ former CEO Min Hee Jin accused ILLIT of copying their style. Consequently, Hanni was selected to testify about her experiences with workplace bullying as an idol.
On October 7th, Belift Lab issued a statement rejecting these accusations. They presented CCTV footage asserting that ILLIT had not ignored Hanni’s greetings; however, NewJeans’ parents alleged that HYBE tampered with evidence by removing segments from the day of the incident.
