Chess prodigy Hans Niemann had strong words for Elon Musk after the X CEO revived accusations of cheating in his victory against Magnus Carlsen.
Even though the chess cheating controversy involving Hans Niemann and Magnus Carlsen has been resolved, Elon Musk continues to make light of the situation.
In the year 2022, the world of chess gained widespread popularity following allegations that Hans Niemann had used unfair tactics to defeat the world’s best player during an in-person match.
There were numerous speculations regarding Niemann’s potential cheating methods, one of the most widespread being that the young chess genius had a vibrating object implanted in his body to signal which moves he should make.
Despite months of negotiations and even a $100M lawsuit, all parties involved ultimately reached a settlement when none of the allegations could be substantiated. However, this has not deterred Elon Musk from mentioning the infamous incident in his public statements.
I have to say that if he did use Stockfish butt vibes, he deserved to win. At least once. Computers are so much better than humans at chess, it’s absurd. I predict that chess will be essentially fully solved (like checkers) within 10 years.

Elon playfully shared a modified photo of Apple AirPods on X, prompting a user to ask if they were the same ones used by “that chess player.”
“Elon replied, acknowledging that the use of Stockfish butt vibes would have given him a fair advantage and possibly secured his victory. He made a point to mention the dominance of computers in chess, stating that their superiority over humans is undeniable.”
Despite Musk bringing up the past drama, Niemann was not pleased as there was no concrete evidence to support claims of cheating.
Despite multiple official chess organizations proving my innocence, I acknowledge the comedic value of this conspiracy theory,”he declared. “I am excited to become the world chess champion and let my skills on the board do the talking.”
Although my innocence has been proven by multiple official chess organizations, I understand the comedic value behind this conspiracy theory.I look forward to becoming world chess champion, and letting the chess speak for itself. https://t.co/8KeTTgQxDc

Despite Niemann’s dislike for people discussing the scandal, it appears that it will continue to be a topic of conversation for the foreseeable future. According to recent reports, a movie about the allegations is currently in the works, with Emma Stone signed on as a producer.
Following the success of Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit, the movie ‘Checkmate’ is expected to be released. As a result, Niemann may want to prepare himself as he will most likely face more inquiries about the scandal as details about the film are unveiled.
