Has the World of My Hero Academia Achieved Peace?

Despite facing countless challenges, the heroes of society have always pursued peace. They have dedicated themselves to preserving the carefree days and bringing smiles to people’s faces. As My Hero Academia draws to a close, Deku and his friends have emerged triumphant after enduring many battles and shedding blood, sweat, and tears.

Following the defeat of the mastermind, All for One, there does not seem to be any immediate danger. Has peace truly been achieved? Could there possibly be an even more formidable threat in the future? These are some of the questions that will be explored in this blog.

As quirk or meta abilities began to emerge in ordinary individuals, the once peaceful world of My Hero Academia was disrupted. However, as society became more accepting of this genetic anomaly, quirks became the new norm. Unfortunately, with discrimination and criminal activity on the rise, certain individuals took it upon themselves to ensure their safety. This ultimately paved the way for the creation of the current world of Pro-heroes and Villains.

When All For One began gathering Villains to his side in pursuit of his goal, it caused the emergence of even greater threats that surpassed the predictions of both the police and Pro Heroes. As a result, the Pro Heroes intensified their training in preparation for the impending disaster.

Throughout the series, we observed numerous confrontations between Pro Heroes and Villains, culminating in the ultimate confrontation between them. All For One spared no effort in his quest to obtain One For All and dominate the world. He even manipulated Shigaraki Tomura, a victim of hatred and isolation, into his schemes. However, in the end, the combined efforts of heroes and the spirits of previous One For All users resulted in the defeat of both All For One and Shigaraki.

The society appeared to have regained a sense of normality following the war. Although complete peace may never be attainable, the current state of peace has allowed people to rebuild their homes and find courage. The younger generation will continue to strive for peace and progress, never giving up.

What does the future hold

Despite their victory, the heroes have suffered great losses. The Todoroki Family has once again been torn apart and Ochako is still mourning. Additionally, Deku has been left without his quirk. However, although the aftermath of the war appears grim, there is still a glimmer of hope remaining.

The characters are determined to continue pushing forward and are prepared to welcome the future with sincere appreciation. Even if a greater danger than All For One and Shigaraki were to arise in the future (as the sequel may reveal), both the heroes and society will be united in facing it together.

About My Hero Academia

Kōhei Horikoshi is the writer and illustrator of My Hero Academia, a Japanese superhero manga series. It has been continuously published in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014 and currently has 37 tankōbon volumes as of February 2023.

This story centers on Izuku Midoriya, a quirkless boy who becomes the greatest Hero alive. From the day he was born, Midoriya has admired heroes and their exploits, but he was born into a world where almost everyone has a quirk, except for him.

On a fateful day, he encounters All Might, the most renowned Hero of all time, and learns that even he was once quirkless. Despite this, Midoriya’s determination and unwavering belief in becoming a hero impresses All Might, leading to him being selected as the successor to the One for All power.
