Hatsune Miku Anime Movie Announced for 2025 with PV and Visual

A new anime movie featuring Hatsune Miku, titled Project Sekai: The Movie – Broken World and Miku Who Can’t Sing, has been officially confirmed for production by the official staff on Monday, July 29, 2024. The staff released a promotional video and visual to announce that the film will debut in Japan on January 17, 2025.

The anime film adaptation of Hatsune Miku is based on the Project Sekai Colorful Stage! Feat. Hatsune Miku game, a rhythm and adventure game for iOS and Android devices. Developed by SEGA and Colorful Palette, the game was released in September 2020 and features the virtual singer, Hatsune Miku. P. A Works is producing the film.

On Monday, July 29, 2024, a new website and a rebranded Twitter account (formerly known as Twitter) were launched to announce the upcoming anime film adaptation of the popular rhythm and adventure game Project Sekai Colorful Stage! Feat. Hatsune Miku. The film, titled Project Sekai: The Movie- Broken World and Miku Who Can’t Sing, will debut in Japanese theaters on January 17, 2025, featuring the beloved character Hatsune Miku.

Additionally, the official staff released a teaser promotional video and visual for the upcoming Hatsune Miku anime film, along with this information. The 30-second clip showcases Hatsune Miku and other significant characters from the game.

It is worth noting that in the PV, Miku is seen sporting a new outfit that was not previously featured in the original video game. In addition to the PV, the main visual portrays Miku in a holographic form, crouching down in Shibuya with a lethargic expression.

The image showcases Shibuya as the backdrop, emphasizing the lack of attention paid to Miku at the center. This undoubtedly piques curiosity about the upcoming anime movie.

In Project Sekai: The Movie- Broken World and Miku Who Can’t Sing, Saki Fujita is the voice of Hatsune Miku, while Asami Shimoda plays the roles of Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len. Megurine Luka is portrayed by Yu Asakawa, and MEIKO’s role is played by Meiko Haigo.

In the role of KAITO, Naoto Fuga is joined by Karin Isobe as Saki Tenma. Minori Hanazato is voiced by Yu Ogura, with Honami Mochizuki portrayed by Reina Ueda. Ichika Hoshino is played by Ruriko Noguchi, while Shiho is portrayed by Yuki Nakashima. Haruka is played by Mayu Yoshioka, and Shizuku Hinomori is portrayed by Rina Honizumi.

The editor is Ayumu Takahashi, and Satoshi Hono is responsible for the music composition.

A Synopsis of the Hatsune Miku Anime Movie

The official staff has revealed details about the upcoming Hatsune Miku anime movie. They have announced that the film will showcase a never-before-seen version of Hatsune Miku, created specifically for the movie and not featured in the game.

The focus of the story is on Ichika Hoshino, who stumbles upon a new Miku song while browsing through a records shop. She is taken aback when she sees an unfamiliar version of Miku on the screen and cannot help but exclaim in shock. However, Miku only glances at her before suddenly vanishing.

After Ichika completes one of her street performances, she notices Miku’s face appearing on her smartphone. Sensing that the singer is troubled by something, Ichika decides to inquire about it.

Despite her best efforts, Hatsune Miku is unable to connect with people through her music. However, after witnessing Ichika’s ability to captivate audiences, Miku realizes that getting to know her could potentially help her achieve the same. With a smile, Ichika agrees.
