“Haunting” Horror Film Based on Sickening True Events Available to Stream for Free

In time for spooky season, a German horror movie that is known for its eerie and chilling atmosphere can now be streamed for free.

As October approaches, horror movie enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating a fresh selection of films to enjoy, including the highly anticipated Terrifier 3.

On the other hand, while certain viewers may be interested in watching recently released films, others may prefer to rewatch timeless classics that still have a strong impact.

One highly recommended movie that they can watch is the 2013 psychological drama Nothing Bad Can Happen, which has received praise on the horror subreddit for being one of the most “haunting”films. A user even commented, “Nothing Bad Can Happen was intense. It’s rare for a movie to affect me, but this one felt incredibly realistic.”

Tore (Julius Feldmeier), a solitary individual, is the protagonist of the movie. He has found solace in religion as he searches for his purpose in life.

Based on a tragic true story, Nothing Bad Can Happen follows the fate of Thies Fischer, a disabled man who became a victim of couple Werner and Manuela H. The two took turns torturing the young man until his untimely death.

According to writer/director Katrin Gebbe, the film’s true storyline motivated her to bring it to the big screen. In an interview with MIFF, she explained, “The characters resonated with me on a deep level… It felt like a departure from reality, and I saw the potential for exploring various themes such as relationships, guilt, desire, belief, idealism, love, and bravery. I wanted to delve deeper than just providing a simple explanation.”

At the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, Nothing Bad Can Happen received a variety of reactions, including boos, cheers, and standing ovations.

Despite never being released in theaters, the movie can now be streamed for free on The Roku Channel.
