Fans and netizens were engaged in a heated online debate when Hawk Tuah’s daughter accidentally consumed dog food instead of human food during her trip to one of America’s priciest supermarkets.
Haliey Welch, popularly known as Hawk Tuah girl, gained widespread attention on August 10 when she shared a video showcasing her experiences during her second trip to Los Angeles, California.
Despite having three ‘must do’s’ on her list, such as visiting In-N-Out and trying a breakfast burrito for the first time, it was her third desire to visit Erewhon that sparked a conversation online.
Erewhon remains one of America’s priciest grocery stores, with smoothies priced at $23. However, what caused Hawk Tuah girl to go viral is far more amusing than a simple fruit and yogurt blend.
During her Erewhon video, Haliey was taken aback by the $20 price tag for a gallon of milk. However, the internet was even more surprised when she accidentally confused dog jerky for human beef jerky.
“She exclaimed, “They even have turkey jerky!”before being corrected: “That’s for dogs, Haliey.”She then sheepishly walked away, still laughing.
Despite it being an innocent error, Hawk Tuah’s mix-up generated a discussion on the internet. Some viewers believed that it was a sign of her rising fame, while others felt that her time in the spotlight should now come to an end.
“Someone commented that she is now gaining fame simply by being her authentic self.”
Another person emphasized the importance of protecting her, stating that she is incredibly precious.
Despite this, there were still negative comments. “Damn, just go away… I’m so tired of untalented individuals becoming so popular,”commented one person.
“Another person stated that Chick is an insignificant individual with a camera pointed at her.”
Additionally, it was mentioned by some that the individuals who expressed dislike towards her in the comments were simply envious of her “sweet and original personality”that gained widespread attention on the internet following her Tim & Dee TV interview in June.
Not only has being on the verge of purchasing dog food for herself caused her to be ridiculed online, but Haliey has also faced criticism for claiming to be the “meme queen”on X. Furthermore, she was recently made fun of for not understanding what a meme was, following her posting of heavily-edited photos without any accompanying text.
Despite this, she remains popular and has made generous donations of both money and time to animal shelters. She has also reportedly earned $30K for her appearances at clubs.
