Barbie Pascual was taken aback when the confessional scene, in which she discussed her father watching the show, was featured on Below Deck Season 11.
Barbie Pascual, a stew on Below Deck Season 11, had a keen interest in forming a relationship with deckhand Kyle Stillie.
Following her intimate encounter with him in Episode 12, she started to experience feelings of guilt in the subsequent episode. She was concerned about her father being disappointed in her when he watched the show.
Barbie discussed her perspective on the fourth wall moment during a clip from Below Deck Mediterranean alum Hannah Ferrier’s podcast, Dear Reality, You’re Effed!, which was shared on Instagram.
Barbie clarified that during the previews for the April 29 episode, she expressed in one of her confessionals, “I am hesitant to do this because I am aware that my dad is watching.”
During that moment, they completely broke the fourth wall with me. It was something that I hadn’t experienced before because breaking the fourth wall and acknowledging the audience is not common. When I saw the preview, I was taken aback because they were being completely honest and truthful.
Hannah assured Barbie that this type of situation was typical on the show, as she had encountered it in the past. The former Chief Stew emphasized the importance of breaking the fourth wall in the storyline, explaining that it would not make sense without doing so.
Despite being aware that her dad would most likely watch her on Below Deck, Barbie was not expecting her emotional outburst to be included in the final cut.
