KiiiKiii Makes a Splash with Their Debut Mini Album “UNCUT GEM”

The highly anticipated rookie girl group KiiiKiii (comprised of members Jiyu, Leesol, Sui, Haum, and Kya) celebrated their debut on March 24, unveiling their first mini album titled “UNCUT GEM” during an electrifying showcase at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Yongsan, Seoul.

During their showcase, member Haum expressed her exhilaration, stating, “Performing on a music show for the first time was unforgettable, especially with the fans cheering for us so passionately—it filled us with energy!”

The group has attracted significant attention during their pre-release promotions. Sui remarked, “With ‘I DO ME’, our goal is to spread smiles and joy. Through our song ‘BTG (Been That Girl)’, we want to highlight our rap and performance skills. We are committed to evolving and presenting even better versions of ourselves.”

Connections and Inspirations

KiiiKiii, often referred to as the junior group of IVE, had garnered interest even before their debut. Kya shared, “We had the pleasure of meeting the IVE members when we delivered our album. They offered encouraging advice and support, which we truly appreciated.”

Jiyu reflected on her experiences with IVE, noting, “During my trainee days, I practiced alongside the IVE seniors for a brief time. As I share the same vocal coach as Liz from IVE, we exchanged words of encouragement. Her support meant a lot to me.”

Defining Their Own Path

When asked about being labeled as “IVE’s younger sister group, ” Sui humbly stated, “We see it more as an honor than a pressure. IVE are fantastic role models, and while we aim to emulate their success, we also strive to create our unique identity as KiiiKiii.”

In response to comparisons with fellow rookie group Hearts2Hearts, who debuted around the same time, KiiiKiii’s members opted for a collaborative perspective, stating, “Rather than viewing them strictly as rivals, we regard it as a privilege to debut concurrently. We hope to inspire one another as contemporaries.”
