On June 12th, Lee Joo-mi took to her Instagram story to reveal that she had fallen victim to financial fraud. According to her, someone had been impersonating her and using stolen pictures of her lawyer ID and forged resident registration cards to scam people in investment reading chat rooms. The damage caused by this impersonation scam ranged from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of won.
She made it clear that she is not associated with any open chat rooms and does not participate in any financial activities such as investment solicitations or signatures.
In addition, Lee Joo-mi clarified, “Lately, there have been instances where individuals have pretended to be lawyers in order to swindle legal fees. I am currently supporting the victims in initiating legal proceedings. If you have encountered similar situations, please reach out to me.”
As she presented a forged ID card, she added, “The date of birth is the only accurate information and the photo has been falsified. My hands are shaking, and I can only imagine the distress of the victims. I have obtained permission to share this photo in order to prevent any further harm. Please remain vigilant and cautious.”
In 2019, Lee Joo-mi first gained recognition from the public when she appeared on Channel A’s “Good People”. Four years later, she continued to win over viewers with her warm and compassionate nature when she joined the cast of Channel A’s reality show “Heart Signal 4”.
“The reality show “Heart Signal”follows the romantic relationships of young men and women living together in the Signal House, with the goal of predicting the final couples. In Season 4, Lee Joo-mi joined the cast and two couples, Shin Min-kyu & Yoo Yi-soo and Han Gyeo-re & Kim Ji-young, were formed. However, Han Gyeo-re & Kim Ji-young’s relationship ended in a breakup. Unfortunately, Lee Joo-mi did not find a romantic connection on the show.”
