Helldivers 2 CEO Hints at Adding an Important Feature

Stealth is surprisingly an option in Helldivers 2, and the Arrowhead CEO took the surprise even further by sharing his stealth-focused game setup.

Helldivers 2 is known for its loud, crazy action, where ordinary citizens transformed into soldiers rise up to spread freedom and democracy across the galaxy. The game reinforces this fantasy by providing players with abundant equipment to blow things up or take out entire brigades of enemies.

However, what is less well known is that discretion is actually an option. Players shared their experiences behind enemy lines, finding the silent approach worked well for them.

That said, stealth could become a core feature in the future, at least if an interaction between Arrowhead’s CEO and a Twitter/X user is any indicator.

Helldivers 2 CEO Shares His Stealth Build From Playtest

Since the arrival of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt has been exceptionally active in keeping the player base informed on the status of the game.

When sharing that server capacity had been increased to 800,000, a Twitter user/X responded with a TikTok video giving discretion advice for players wanting to change from the norm.

The response caught the attention of many players, with Pilestedt commenting that he played similarly, albeit with subsonic ammo and a silencer during playtesting.

This caused a flurry of surprised responses from players, each more confused and surprised than the other. One replied: “Wait, what?” , while another said: “Wait a minute, did you say subsonic and quiet? Please give it to us!”

Helldivers 2 certainly exceeded all expectations of players and even the developers themselves. After the game’s success reaching Palworld status, Pilestedt shared that the team plans to expand the Arrowhead staff to rework and accelerate the content plan.

Future plans may include a stealth update, although it may be some time before that happens. So stay tuned for more information as it is revealed.
